The homeowner contacted us after two burners on their Viking 6-burner gas range stopped igniting. The igniters were clicking repeatedly when turned on, but no flame was produced. The remaining four burners worked normally, and the oven was not affected. The customer had already tried cleaning around the burner caps and ensuring they were seated properly, but the issue persisted.
Our technician removed the affected burner assemblies and tested the igniters with a multimeter. Both showed degraded resistance readings well outside of Viking's specification, confirming the igniters had weakened and could no longer generate sufficient heat to open the gas valve. We replaced both igniters with genuine Viking OEM hot surface igniters and verified proper flame ignition across all six burners. We also inspected the gas valve and wiring harness to ensure no secondary issues were present.
We repair all Viking ranges across Paradise Valley and the Phoenix Metro area. Same-day appointments available.
