The customer reported that their KitchenAid double wall oven was displaying an F2E1 error code and shutting down during preheating. The upper oven would begin heating but never reach the set temperature before the error appeared and the cycle aborted. The lower oven was experiencing the same issue intermittently. The customer had tried resetting the breaker multiple times, but the error kept returning.
Our technician tested the oven temperature sensor and found it was reading within specification, which pointed to the electronic control board as the source of the F2E1 fault. The control board was unable to properly interpret the sensor signal, causing it to misread the oven temperature and trigger the error. We replaced the control board with a genuine KitchenAid OEM part, recalibrated the oven temperature offset, and ran both cavities through full bake and broil cycles. Both ovens reached and maintained their target temperatures accurately with no error codes.
